This workshop is specifically designed for vets who are new, or those returning to practice, to get you fit for the job. It is also beneficial for veterinarians requiring a nuts and bolts refresher course. You know you have a pretty good memory and know all the important stuff, but HOW do you implement that in the clinical setting? This is the workshop for you. Along with surgical skills, we have communication and meditation topics every day. Join us for an intensive 3 days jam packed full of theory and practical sessions from expert tutors. We’ll give you all the support you need to do your job confidently and competently.

Dr Christine Hawke

Dr Christine Hawke

Qualifications: BSc BVSc PhD MACVSc

Specialisation: Small Animal Dentistry

Christine became a member of the ACVSc in 2006 and founded Sydney Pet Dentistry in 2007, which takes referrals from across NSW. Christine has provided Sydney’s longest running advanced small animal dentistry service for over a decade. She has recently partnered with North Shore Veterinary Specialist, to provide her wide range of services.

Dr Geraldine Gorman

Qualifications: MVB (Dublin) MANZCVS (Small animal dentistry and oral surgery)

Specialisation: Small Animal Dentistry

Geraldine spent 17 years in Bay of Islands Veterinary Services in New Zealand before doing referral dentistry cases at Mill Road Vet Clinic in Whangarei. In 2010, Geraldine studied for and passed her exams to become a member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Small Animal Dentistry and Oral Surgery. Geraldine started at James Street in June 2017, and also enjoys teaching small animal dentistry to Veterinarians and veterinary nurses.

Specialisation: Member Small Animal Surgery

Dr Peter Young BVSC, MANZCVS (Small animal Surgery) has had a varied and rewarding career in many aspects of practice. Early clinical years were spent in dairy cattle, equine stud and rural general practice. A move to Albury saw an increased interest in small animal surgery with Membership exams being undertaken in 1990. This developed into a second opinion surgical practice until a move to Charles Sturt University in 2010, where he was involved in providing referral surgical services and as Superintendent of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital until 2017.
Since then Peter has decided on part-time work to allow time for many other pursuits.

Dr Ryan Leong

Dr Ryan Leong

Qualifications: BVSc

Specialisation: Small Animal Surgery

Dr. Ryan Leong graduated as a veterinarian from The University of Sydney in 2012. Following graduation, he undertook an internship in Small Animal Surgery at Melbourne Veterinary Specialist Centre (MVSC), followed by a couple of years of general practice. In 2016, he completed a second internship in Small Animal Surgery at the Animal Referral Hospital Canberra, where he stayed on to commence his residency training in Small Animal Surgery in 2017. Ryan is passionate about all aspects of his surgical training but has a keen interest in the management of complex fractures, biomechanics and neurosurgery.

Your Questions Answered

What happens if I pay and then later can’t come?

As per our workshop terms & conditions, refunds are provided (if the cancellation is in writing) up to 45 days prior to the workshop. Cancellations made 45 days prior to the commencement of the workshop incur a 30% administration fee. Cancellations made 7 days prior to the commencement of the workshop are not refundable.

Can I pay off my registration fee?

Yes! We offer payment plans so registrants can pay off their fee easily. To request a payment plan, please contact [email protected].

What if I can’t attend because of COVID-19 border restrictions?

The terms & conditions will apply and you will have to make a decision 45 days prior to the workshop to receive a refund.

What happens if the workshop is cancelled?

If VetPrac cancels any workshops, you will be provided a full refund. However, VetPrac will not be responsible for any travel, accommodation or any other expenses incurred by you. If on-campus accommodation is organised by VetPrac, the cost of this accommodation will be forfeited.

Are there group discounts available?
