Anita has been a veterinary nurse for nearly 30 years. She worked in a general practice for the first 10 years and then joined Veterinary Specialist Services (VSS) in 2001 as a medical and surgical nurse. For the last 10 years Anita has specialised as a surgical nurse and followed her passion for anaesthesia and pain management. VSS opened their 3rd practice in 2017 in Jindalee, and Anita currently manages this.
Anita has kept her Australian qualifications current including her Certificate IV in Vet Nursing, Diploma in Surgery and ECC. She is an accredited vet nurse and is registered through the VNCA as a vet nurse. Anita also has international qualifications, becoming a Certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner (CVPP) through the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management (IVAPM) in 2012, and gaining a Veterinary Technician Specialty in Anaesthesia and Analgesia in 2009, for which she has recertified in 2015 and 2019.
Her skills and experience that she’s gained over the last 20 years plus are now being passed on to veterinary nurses and technicians throughout both Australia and internationally (USA, Hong Kong, Indonesia, France and elsewhere via webinars) through lectures, workshops and in-clinic hands-on training.
Anita’s special interests include critical care, challenging anaesthetics, pain management, surgical nursing and practice management.
