Melody is one of VetPrac’s newest team members and is the Marketing and Communication Coordinator. She has a Certificate III in Financial Services, Certificate III in Business, and is in the final stages of simultaneously completing a Diploma of Events (event management) and Diploma of Marketing and Communication.
Melody has an entirely customer-centric work history. She has always worked in and loved customer focused roles and has a drive for identifying the ultimate solution to meet customer end-goals. Most notably in past experience, she worked for a very prestigious banking corporation where she started as an entry level inbound customer service representative and quickly developed and proved her technical and service skills to become the national facilitator for their call centres.
She brings a delightful tune to the VetPrac team and admittedly has the uncontrollable reflex of singing or referencing songs when the mood strikes. Melody says “it’s a good thing I’ve been singing in choirs since I was 5 years old otherwise I’m sure my 10+ song references a day would be far worse received”.
Melody loves the sense of humour of the people in the veterinary industry and that by working with us she is able to help make a difference to the care and medical treatment of animals across Australia. Of course, as with any job there are some challenges one of which is the vet jargon or as Melody likes to say “VetSpeak”. Regardless, she is doing a fantastic job getting by and is learning lots of new things through working with us. “I find it incredibly interesting to learn how vets do all the things that they do,” says Melody.
Hopefully very soon she’ll be fulfilling a lifelong dream to stay in a glass ceiling igloo in Kakslauttanen, Finland and see the Aurora Borealis – that’s 2018’s goal! Also, one day she wishes to have a huge house with a massive backyard and it will be filled with cats, dogs, reptiles, and possibly some rodents and birds too! Lastly, if Melody was a superhero, she would really like to have flight as her power…
Well, we don’t know if that will ever happen for you Melody, but one thing that we do know is that you are a superhero to us and we welcome you to the team!
